Stones Taro, Agora and duckem feature on compilation to raise money for refugees in Moria
London-based project Pollination have put together an urgent compilation in response to the fire that tookplace on 9th September at Moria refugee camp in Lesvos, Greece, leaving 13k refugees displaced once more, including 5000 minors.
Titled Solidarity with Moria: All Refugees Welcome, the compilation features 11 tracks spanning everything from breaks to UK garage, house and techno, from the likes of Stones Taro, Corporeal Face, duckem, Agora and more.
All profits from the release will go to Movement On The Ground, and NGO in Lesvos who are working to improve the living conditions for thousands of refugees in the new temporary camp being established behind Kara Tepe camp – despite the EU promise of “NO MORE MORIAS”.
Moria, on Lesvos at the intersection of Africa, the Middle East and Greece, has become a significant landing point for refugees seeking to cross into Europe since 2015. A squalid camp with basic facilities designed to house 2,500, Moria became a refuge for 13,000 people, with those housed there being left without shelter after September’s fire, and facing winter conditions and a coronavirus outbreak.
