Outer Reaches present new album by experimental duo Leyden Jars
The Outer Reaches label will release a new album by the London based experimental duo Leyden Jars on October 30th.
Entitled ‘Gone’ & formed of ten tracks produced over the course of a two year period, the album is described as a work ‘of fragmented musicality, electro-acoustic emission, disembodied dub, radiophonic interference, & revelatory DIY poetics’, one that displays common ground with the likes of Tod Dockstader, Beatriz Ferreyra, Broadcast, & Movietone.
Comprised of Natalie Williams & Mark Courtney, the Leyden Jars project first emerged in 2015 with their debut EP ‘Force, Matter & Energy’, and subsequently issued a highly recommended series of releases on the influential underground imprint Mordant Music. Their last outing came in the form of 2018’s ‘Almost Nothing’, a self-released collection of heavily overdubbed live recordings.
The duo describe ‘Gone’ as an exploration of ‘absence’, themetically concerned with ‘the gap between an old cycle & what comes next’, a sentiment that now feels ‘weirdly prescient’.

‘Gone’ is released on Limited Edition Cassette & Download on October 30th.
Download available via Bandcamp only.
