Moderat – Bad Kingdom (Dj Koze Edit) – Single Review

DJ Koze is some sort of master of timing. He teases out the intro to his remix of ‘Bad Kingdom’ for what seems like an eternity of cheeky skiffling beats, all happily shuffling along in the polite, slightly dis-engaged world of bar house. Then after 2 and a half minutes of this sort of aloofness he splurges a load of bass all over the shop, doling out low frequency farts like a flatulent Santa. Granted that may sound weird – and possibly even unpleasant – but it turns out, it’s actually bloody great. Never has the farty bass sound been put to such fine use. Full marks all round.
