Video Premiere: RAMZi – Malaga Trancehall
Last month on her own FATi Records, Montreal native RAMZi ushered us once again into her beautiful sonic universe with her most recent work cocon, a collection of nine tracks made during her travels across Europe and Australia and back home in Canada.
‘Malaga Trancehall’, composed in Malaga as the title suggests, is a dreamy sub-aquatic track that rumbles slowly along beneath the shallow waters. To compliment the audio, audiovisual artist Vica Pacheco, who is also behind the artwork for the album, has created an animated world orchested by the playful rhythms and the sitar played by Bearbones Lay Low.
As a follow up to the release, RAMZi has invited some friends to put their own spin on the album tracks, including Roza Terenzi, D. Tiffany, Priori, River Yarra, Regular Fantasy, Nap, Bearbones Lay Low and Francis Inferno Orchestra.
cocon is out now via RAMZi’s own FATi Records. Buy HERE.
