Premiere: Yoann Pisterman – Bucolic Architecture (Flug 8 Remix)
Four reworkings from the multi-instrumentalist’s debut album on Bytes.
Made from golden stone, monochrome metals and vast sheets of glass, the buildings stretched up into the clouds. They had entire floors dedicated to play. There were elevators, but fun was thought so important that there were also slides so you could zoom down several floors at a time. Then there were the pods that circulated on rails around the outside of the building, not for any real purpose, more as a sort of wild fairground ride.
The first release of 2022 from Bytes is a four-track EP featuring reworkings of tracks from Water Groove, the stunning debut album from the French-born, Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist composer and visual artist Yoann Pisterman. The four remixes – from Daniel ‘Flug 8’ Herrmann, Acid Washed, Enrique Leon (aka ELO) and Lunar Orbit Rendezvous – complement and enhance Pisterman’s transportative Japanese-influenced ambient/German Komische/New Age sounds.
Premiering today is the R$N stalwart Daniel ‘Flug 8’ Herrmann’s remix of Bucolic Architecture, in which he returns to hardware manipulation. Soundtracking cinematic imagery and hyperbolic auditory geometry, this trippy number takes the listener on a reflective journey through natural sounds and dystopian realities. Time halts for six minutes as electronic agents bewitch your senses.
The Remix EP will be released by Bytes on February 18.
