Premiere: Ammonite – When You Don’t (Salamanda Remix)
Leftfield ambient duo, Salamanda reimagine Ammonite’s heavenly “When You Don’t”.
Ransom Note Records are delighted to announce Blueprints Revisited, six remixes of the breakthrough debut mini-album from Ammonite, a.k.a. songwriter-producer Amy Spencer. Using just the voice and technology to create Blueprints, the outcome contains fragments of self-reflective lyrics, drones of humming vowels and broken, repetitive words; all meeting electronic processing to flow like a glorious, glitchy, blue river. Rapturously received, previous single ARP was used in Christian Dior’s Haute Couture runway at Paris fashion week in June. We have invited an array of the best producers the underground has to offer to perform remix duties.
Our first offering is from Seoul-based duo, Salamanda remixing “When You Don’t”. The up and coming leftfield ambient duo, have taken elements from the heavenly, delicate original track and reworked them into a retro, synth heavy, slow-mo workout. The sparse, driving drum break reveals Amy’s angelic vocal layers and Salamanda have added their own distinctive flare, creating a spectacularly bold mix.
