Premiere: Sherø – Berlin Moon (Original Mix)
An endless queue of people waited patiently in single file for the huge bronze doors to swing open and welcome them in. It was five minutes to midnight, they didn’t have much longer to wait. As the last few minutes passed, the buzz of chatter grew louder and louder; a signal of the imminent atmosphere that was set to engulf them on entry. As the doors opened with a deafening band the crowds whooped and cheered. Tonight, they would dance together again.
Berlin Moon marks the first release on new Berlin-based label KlubKid, a platform indebted to showcasing and supporting artists within queer creative communities. The inaugural EP comes courtesy of label founder Sherø AKA Stéphanie D’Olieslager who, under her other aliases D´Stephanie and D´Steph, has previously released on the likes of Chez, Black Vinyl and Sonar Kollektiv. Berlin Moon cements the label’s music policy and shows us what we can expect in future, with the musical ethos inspired by the intimacy of underground house, Belgian New Beat, rave and the early years of acid.
