The Paradiso boss makes his debut on Palms Trax’s CWPT imprint.

The rainforest was alive with all manner of sounds and smells; everywhere you turned there was something new to take in. Birds chirped high above; insects buzzed loudly in harmony; all carried by the gentle breeze that drifted through the branches. They joined together to create a sweet cacophony of sounds, like nature’s own personal choir. This place belonged to them; it belonged to the trees and the plants, to the insects and the mammals, to the rivers and the springs; this was their home and, at least for now, it was untarnished by mankind.

DJ and producer REES has been making quite the storm recently with his slick take on Italo Disco and the synth-driven sounds of the 80s, whilst also flying the flag for his home of Middlesborough. Releases for Bordello A Parigi, Permanent Vacation, Internasjonal and his own Paradiso imprint have housed these sounds so far, and now he heads to Palms Trax’s CWPT imprint for another batch of driving cuts. Rhythm is at the core of the four tracks on Devils Club which, once again, tip the hat to his favourite musical era through propulsive bass lines, crisp percussion and soaring synth melodies.
