Premiere: Lady J – Rakim Under
The Make A Dance crew enlist a new roster of artists to spice up a bunch of tracks for their third edit release.
The party was in full swing. From the moment the doors opened bodies had flooded in, all making a bee line for the dance floor. The energy never let up, the crowd only swelled, growing in size and spirit as dusk turned to night and into morning. Each and every person was here for the sweet sounds pulsing out of the speakers in the four corners of the room; here to be at one with the space and each other, to free their minds and leave their inhibitions at the door – they were here to dance.
London imprint Make A Dance have a simple mission – can you guess what it is? Their releases are all about getting your body moving, and they’re pretty darn good at it. Alongside original outings they’ve become known for their M.A.D. Edits series, a vinyl-only string of EPs that calls on the talents of friends and label family to flip their favourite cuts for the floor. For the third instalment they’ve got Rakim Under, Pascal Moscheni, Lex Wolf and Hard Drive Library on board, who each put their own classic house spin on four spicy cuts.
M.A.D. Edits 003 is out now.
