The night was young but there was a fever and an energy in the air. It was tense and palpable.

The weekend was fast approaching, the release from the day to day struggles of the working week would be euphoric and fuelled by decadent dancing in dark rooms where smoke hung thick and people mingled beneath the glow of a rich, warm red light.

Things weren’t so bad after all. He was feeling alright.

As he entered the club he took off his coat, placed it promptly upon the old leather chair perched in the corner of the room and joined the throb of people on the dancefloor.

He shuffled a little. He was moving.
