Premiere: Fluctuosa – Thalamus Psu
The words ‘NO ENTRY’ were scrawled across the gate at the entrance to the gardens. They could tell why, it looked like a disaster zone. Crumbling structures towered over piles of debris and unkempt plants that seemed to twist and convulse under the moonlight. It felt like something wicked resided here, with each gentle breeze that passed, chills coursed down their spines forcing them to shiver. Perhaps some things were best left to the imagination.
After a handful of releases on his own imprint sitdownandance and one for Zanderhythm, Istanbul-based producer Fluctuosa takes his intricate and rich electronics to Ece Özel and Umut’s Müstesna Records. Having spent most of last year working on new music, he collects 8 of these creations on this LP, ‘Physical Hack’, which, from start to finish, has a haunting, broody quality that seems to bubble underneath the surface.
