Premiere: Eyes of Others – Elevenses
“Come on over, we’ll listen to the radio. You do your thing, I’ll do mine. I skipped my breakfast but I always take my lunch. I’ll never be the person that you want me to be.”
For the 15th release on the now London-based imprint, Global Warming Records welcome Edinburgh musician and producer Eyes of Others to their ever-growing family. ‘Elevenses’ is his debut long player—following a trio of EPs for dive bar-turned-record shop and label Paradise Palms—and builds on his signature brand of “post-pub, couldn’t get in the club” music.
A heady mix of leftfield pop, electronic dub and new wave goodness, the LP flaunts Eyes of Others songwriting ability, matching melancholic yet catchy hooks with conversational lyricism that touches on themes of every day happenings, failed relationships and doing the dishes.
