Premiere: Eluize – Ennui
The alarm rang but was there any point getting out of bed? All the days rolled into one another, nothing changed, everything stayed the same. The initial wave of excitement at having endless hours to try new things and embark on new hobbies had dwindled, now boredom was the main dish of the day. For breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Following her debut LP Confide last year, Eluize makes her return to Glaswegian imprint Craigie Knowes for round two: an eclectic collection of tracks titled Gone. Showcasing her skilled approach to song-writing, composition and production, the album effortlessly jumps between genres, placing dancefloor-orientated techno and electro cuts next to ambient and experimental musings, laced with Eluize’s enchanting, wistful vocals.
