Premiere: Benyayer – Domiray
Percussive driven bass weight from Benyayer.
There was an opening between the trees, an arena within which a fire burned brightly casting sparks and flames high upward toward the forest ceiling.
Shadows danced and moved in a circular motion, each swaying in time with the beat of the drums. Their faces were concealed by the darkness, for everyone was anonymous here.
The music echoed loudly, sounds of the wild. It bounced from tree to tree, becoming loud and relentless in the heat of the darkness.
This would go on all night.
Benyayer, formally known as Dark Sky is set to release a new record on his own label BNYR. A bass driven affair which leans heavily into the UK lineage of the genre and reminds us why big soundsystems and the wobble of an undercurrent are all you might ever need. Out Sept 26th.
