Premiere: 95Bones – Dutch Country
They were given no proper directions, only a few coordinates; the rest they’d have to work out themselves. Sheer determination and perseverance would get them there, despite taking a few wrong turns along the way. The directions led them to an abandoned industrial estate with not a soul in sight: now to pinpoint the sounds that would lead them to the dance.
The YAM Records crew return for another instalment in their club-indebted sub label: BAM (Body Action Music). Tasked with following up last year’s 90s-fuelled release from Kyoto’s Stones Taro is fellow Scuffed Recordings alumni 95Bones, who channels a year of lost dance floors into four killer tracks. Custom made for dark rooms and pounding soundsystems, the EP brings a dose of hardware jams that rattle through acid, breaks, UKG and NY house.
In recognition of the influence of LGBTQ+ culture on contemporary dance music a portion of proceeds from this release will be donated to Stonewall Housing.
