Premiere: Cheriii – DRAMATOLOGY

Either side of the dinner table they sat in silence, moving their food slowly around their plates. This was the usual routine at family meetings; what would begin with welcoming embraces and excited chatter soon turned sour when the conversation turned to politics and current affairs. But with each visit the younger members seemed to whittle away at their parents flimsy arguments, leaving them with food for thought. There was no harm in a bit of family drama…

Dalston Superstore residents Super Drama kickstart their new label with a series of three V/A EPs celebrating the artists central to East London’s queer scene, with a few international friends thrown in for good measure. Originally planned as a full album, to be rolled out alongside a string of charity fundraising events, the first of the three EPs bring together the likes of Hannah Holland, Jaye Ward, Angel D’lite, label bosses Super Drama and Homodrop’s Cheriii who delivers a stomping warehouse jam peppered with crisp percussion and underpinned by a warbling acid line.
