Premiere: Khalil Suleman – Moving Around
Slow moving arpeggios power this one forward into the dance.
It was hard to stay in one place. Humans were once wild creatures, not like now. Why is it that we are bound? When did moving around become so frowned upon? Why were the very limbs that we have been given left to waste?
As he wandered through the city, he looked up at the offices and towerblocks, occasionally catching a glimpse of a busy worker sat chained to a desk beneath the flickering glow of fluorescent lights.
Was this all there was?
He dreamt that one day he might leave this place and find something new, perhaps something green or wild. Colour was all he was after. A bit of colour.
Fala Nocturna is a newly launched record label from Lisbon – showcasing musicians with a leftfield approach to Electronic music. Volume 1 is scheduled for release at the beginning of March and demonstrates promise with a collection of sounds which are weird, slow moving and yet engrossing.
