Premiere: Hardway Bros – 1979 (Glok Remix Reprise)
Blissed-out Andy Bell (aka our very own GLOK) guitar rework beauty of the Hardway Bros recent ace Smashing Pumpkins cover on Sean Johnston’s own imprint.
Outre-Mer, where the sea was pink, And the fish wore hats, what do you think?
They sang along with the flowing waves, As the Hardway Bros led a dance of raves.
In ’79, the clocks went haywire, Tick-tocking to a polka, setting minds on fire.
The sky was painted in neon hues, With psychedelic rainbows and sparkly blues.
Glok, the artist of the starry night, Spun remixes with pure delight.
The planets grooved in their orbits so, To the beats that made the galaxies glow.
So if you find yourself in ’79, In Hardway Bros, where the stars align,
Join the Reprise’s embrace, In Outre-Mer, the nonsense space.
Outre-Mer – heading for parts unknown to twist the nose of fate.
Outre-Mer is the new digital imprint by DJ & Producer and long time site friend Sean Johnston. Best known for his decade long partnership with the late Andrew Weatherall as A Love from Outer Space and his productions and remixes as Hardway Brothers, Outre-Mer is “an outlet for like-minded souls and musical mavericks.”
The latest Hardway Bros EP covers New Beat, Dream House, Machine Funk and a Kraut Rock cover of Smashing Pumpkins 90’s hit “1979” which features the ethereal vocals of long-time collaborator Sarah Rebecca.
We’re premeiring the sparkling beauty of Andy Bell aka GLOK’s rework of his cover of Smashing Pumpkins 1979 with the vocals of Sarah Rebecca. Order the full remix EP here and the original EP here.
