Space Is The Place with Sabina Sciubba
Songstress Sabina Sciubba's creative talents traverse the vast realms of the artistic world. Perhaps most well known for being part of Grammy-nominated band Brazilian Girls, as well as being a composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and actor, Italian born Sabina sings in several different languages, including French, Italian, English and German, to convey a myriad of moods.
Her new album Force Majeure celebrates her love of theatre as much as music, bringing together glistening grooves, tender romanticism and chamber pop, sang with a beautiful tone that sounds like Nico meets Serge Gainsbourg…
Here she picks out tracks that beam her up to space…
"In my album Das All is about the voyage of a soul, going out to explore space. When one dies, if the soul leaves the body, after exploring our planet a bit, a soul may want to check out what’s really out there in the universe… wouldn’t yours?"

I first heard about Beach house from Victoria’s Dad, Olivier, who used to be our neighbor in South of France.
He’s an incredible painter, by the way. My mom being a painter also, they became friends.
I find space, sound and music closely related. Almost as if music were our worldly connection to outer space. In this song, the long synthetic sounds really evoke weightlessness and freedom from the laws of our planet.
