Skatepark Soundtracks with Peaking Lights
It's no surprise that 8 year old Mikko and 7 year old Marlon have inherited their parent's passion and taste for music. Psychedelic pop duo Peaking Lights are known for their hazy melting pot of dulcet melodies, shoegaze guitars, cosmic synths and tripped out effects, which has helped them carve out their own unique space in the contemporary music sphere.
Since forming as a band in 2008, their creations have seen them make regular homes at Domino sub-label Weird World, Not Not Fun and Brooklyn's Mexican Summer, with several other releases taking them to Night People, Two Flowers, 100% Silk and Dekmantel, the label they return to this May for their debut album, E S C A P E.
Ahead of the release they've enlisted the help of their children Mikko and Marlon to pick out the soundtracks they carve, shred and skate hard to.
"The choices are by our kids Mikko, 8, and Marlon, 7, who made a Spotify playlist a while ago to skate to. It's called Skate Or Die and is on our Spotify page – songs keep getting added to it as well :)"
