Influences: SARIN
Berlin-based producer SARIN is sonically following in the footsteps of artists like Skinny Puppy and Front Line Assembly, who were pioneering forces of electronic and industrial music in his native of Canada.
Since moving over to the German capital in 2014 SARIN – real name Emad Dabiri – has become a key player in the current EBM and techno wave, taking his ominous drum programming and signature cut-up sampling to labels like aufnahme + wiedergabe, X-IMG and Deth Records.
Fresh off the back of his debut LP for BITE, which follows last year's Kuleshov Effect EP and this year's collab with Imperial Back Unit for the label, we ask him to list the artists and songs that have had the biggest impact on his productions…

Severely underrated EBM duo hailing from Boston in the mid-80s. They only made two albums and a handful of singles but what they did put out was amazing and still very playable in a modern club context I think. This was one of the better driving tracks on the second album. That album saw their approach soften a little bit into a more synth pop direction. They also directed and made several superb music videos that are worth checking out (Armed Forces – for example).
