Sometimes there is a beautifully humble sense of honesty to a record label which states its aim in a straightforward manner.

House Is OK is the record label run by Homeboy, Janis & Oliver Achatz. The label has steadily released music by the likes of TCB, Adham Zahran, Eddoh and more. Most recently they have drafted in music by the likes of Roman Flugel and Kornel Kovacs. This month the imprint will celebrate the release of the 'GEMIŠT' EP's upon which several names have featured by throwing a party at the Berlin club Salon Zur Wilden Renate on the 10th of February. In accompaniment to the party we invited the gang behind the record label to nominate their favourite tracks, 8 Tracks of House Is OK.

Oliver Achatz - L.A. Cure - House Is Ok

Definitely a HIOK classic! Oli didn’t release much music, but when he did it was always incredibly beautiful, just like this song. Integral part of the Summer of 2012 soundtrack.
Janis - Parental Advisory House

One the biggest label hits. Janis recorded the pitched vocal by himself in his home kitchen, through the mic of his laptop and it is about a girl that just can’t stop dancing. So you better turn up the volume and start moving!
Tcb - Uptown Slice

TCB is the Citizen’s Band, a project of Chris Beisswenger who used to be Arto Mwambe with Lauer back in the late noughties. This is a fine example of the music he is doing on his own these days. Krauty house that makes the millennial hippie go full on astral.
Homeboy - Kaprije

The head honchos Adriatic classic which was inspired by a beautiful day on the Adriatic at the former Garden Festival in Tisno. There is no one who could describe the feeling of a hot summer day on the Croatian coast as the original longhaired dude can. I mean he learned swimming in that same bay where Barbarella’s is these days, alright?
Dgf - Greif Meine Hand [House Is Ok]

DGF is an one hit wonder project of Janis and film director Nikias Chryssos. It was pressed on a 7” split single with House Of Life. We wait for the moment when it will recognised as a german Synth Pop holy grail. There are still copies out there, get it before it is to late!
Adham Zahran - Spacebound

When Adham sent us the material for his debut album, we were pretty much kicked out of our shoes, such an amazingly deep beauty.
Tcb - 2nd Touch (Roman Flu?Gel Remix)

Roman is one of our heroes, who with time became a good friend. We are so happy to have him on the second part of the forthcoming “Gemišt” compilation with an original Track. Until then have a listen to the remix he did for TCB’s “2nd Touch”.
