8 Tracks: For the games that we play with Ripperton
Earlier this month we were promised a new album from ESP Institute, an intriguing follow up to a record which had been well received upon first delivery.
It was only last year that Ripperton released "Sight Seeing" – an all ambient affair on the record label run by Lovefingers. It was a departure from the producers previous club focussed material. However, it offered him an opportunity to showcase the musicality and depth behind some of his work, allowing him a chance to dance between the spaces in between.
Now a follow up is in the works and will be released imminently, it's titled "Contrails" and is forthcoming.
Ripperton is a singular and unique producer, originating from Switzerland his sound often playfully weaves its way between deep rooted house and delicate melancholy. It's often enchanting yet distant and serene.
