8 Tracks: For Storming The Dancefloor with Cromby

Moving quickly, Cromby is a singular producer and disc jockey who is powering his way through the ranks having established himself as a forward thinking artist.

Based in Berlin but originating from Ireland he has ground his teeth working as a resident for many years and has built a reputable skill set which has earnt him international bookings at the likes of Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson, The Warehouse Project & Boiler Room.

His own sound is dancefloor focussed and driven, last year saw him release two huge EP's for both Bicep and Denis Sulta on their respective labels. No small feat by any stretch.

Absolutely one to watch – this weekend will see him play in Brighton for the first time at a party which is bound to be very special indeed. We decided to welcome him as part of our eight tracks series in which he doesn't hold back…

Jerome Hill "Bandersnatch"

Jerome Hill is pretty much a buy on sight artist for me. Love this whole Jaberwocky EP, more than one of the tracks gets a regular play.
Bounce - Drop The Ball

B Calloway was absolutely causing it early 2000’s. Some of my favourite ghetto tech beats spawned from his mind. Can always count on some vibey shapes getting cut on the dance floor after you put one of his on.
Casablanca Vice - Kosh | Casa Voyager

Had to include one from Casa Voyager. The stuff they have been releasing seems really pretty new and interesting to me, each track they release seems to be taking inspiration from all sorts of different influences. Spacey, breakbeat to acid, this track has it all. The guys behind Casa Voyager are certainly putting the Moroccon scene on the map.
Fsom - Resist The Beat

Future Sound Of Melbourne have summed up longevity in a party with this track. Morphing everything from Techno, Breakbeat to Trance, with a strong vocal “Let the Beat Control Your Body” commanding you through the journey. Something you can play on a dancefloor and the crowd will never know which direction it is going. A real joy to play, and hear everytime.
Dj Rush - Motherfucking Bass ( Chicago Jaxx Remix )

This has been in my bag for years, and has never failed to get a response. Completely Lifts the room everytime. Whole Ep is great, but the Chicago Jaxx remix is the winner.
Sleepy C - Come On [1997] Psychoactive-009

Probably the go to dance floor killer as it were in my bag right now. Mind-melting acid, with a familiar vocal from heavyweight classic “The Age of Love” to tie it together. Energy in the room erupts every time. A firm favourite of mine now, and will be for years to come.
Local Group - Laser Dome

Opening bars bring in nostalgic piano keys, suggesting a very different sound for what is to come. An intense change of pace comes into play from there on out, beautifully blending between the breakbeat, intense electro and softer piano. Brilliant production, sure to stir up any room.
