Y O K O C H O debuts on Insult To Injury with ‘Everyday Diamonds’
For their next instalment, Ransom Note Records sub-label Insult To Injury welcome Antwerp-based producer Y O K O C H O to the imprint for his debut EP ‘Everyday Diamonds’.
Drawing inspiration from the rich history of New Beat in his home country, Y O K O C H O crafts his own take on these proto dance sounds, touching on a plethora of moods and flavours.
While opener, and title track, ‘Everyday Diamonds’ is a feel-good summer hit guaranteed to lift spirits, ‘Data’ provides some visceral 303 action and ‘Other Side Of The Mirror’ a dose of vintage synthesis and fuzzy drum machine-led grooves, before closing out with the 80s new age ambience of ‘See You There’.
Label boss Timothy Clerkin bolsters the EP with a dancefloor-focused remix of the lead track, propelled by 303s and acid house influences.
