Ukrainian label Pep Gaffe share charity release from tofudj
Kyiv-based label Pep Gaffe have shared the debut solo outing from local producer tofudj.
Titled Take, the release was recorded during the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a way of using music as an escape from the situation in the country.
Marking tofudj’s first solo release, who is a steadfast representative of Kyiv’s electronic music scene, the release is a blend of crunchy ambient atmospheres, dub-wise rhythms and experimental grooves, that are subtle and sparse.
Pep Gaffe is a rhizomatic collective of music enthusiasts from Ukraine who release music and merchandise and host parties and residencies. Tofudj is a Kyiv-based DJ and musician who has performed at Cxema and Boiler Room.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to Livyj Bereh, an organisation who are helping to rebuild homes of poor and underrepresented communities affected by the invasion.
