UK Film FestivaL 2013 Starts today
The UK Film Festival celebrates filmmaking talent from around the world – from Oscar nominated films to unseen masterpieces. Now in its 3rd year, the festival offers awards for Best Short Film, Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Music Video, Best British Short Film and Best Student Film as well as Special Awards for excellence. Running from Monday 11th to Friday 15th November, the Festival will be screening an exciting mix of films chosen by an international panel.
This year, the European Parliament have chosen the UK Film Festival to screen the finalists of the Lux Feature Film Prize. This prestigious award is given to the best European Feature Film as decided by a select group of well known European film critics. This year’s three finalists are soon to be announced and will be screened in London free to the public as part of the UK Film Festival in November, 2013.

Entry to the LUX Film Prize Screenings is completely FREE.
For the rest of the UK Film Festival a full Festival Pass to all the screenings is 10 or 5 for one screening slot (Thursday 14th November will be 10 as this is an extended screening session)

The UKFF is also funding films working in production partnership with Irresistible Films who have produced the film MIKE – the winning script from the 2012 Three Minute Script Competition which was written by AJ Riley and directed by the award-winning Petros Silvestros. This year’s 3 Minute Script Competition will be accepting script submissions untill 21st December. The winning script will be produced once again by Irresistible.
One of last year’s winners BUZKASHI BOYS was subsequently nominated for an Oscar and the UKFF was chosen by the European Parliament to screen the LUX prize European Feature Film finalists. This will be screened with this year’s Lux finalists as part of the Festival.
