Tony Neptune returns with a new concept EP on his Twelve Comets label
Leeds-based DJ and producer Twelve Comets (AKA Sam Jefferies) is set to release the sophomore EP, The Long Gallery, on his own Twelve Comets imprint.
As with the debut EP, Reflections On A Daring Escape, the release is conceptual and continues a fictional story around (the very real) Yuri Gagarin, the Soviet cosmonaut who became the first human to journey into outer space.
The two tracks on this second outing bock clock in at 10 and 8 minutes respectively, each side an absorbing cosmic electronic journey through chugging, interstellar electro house and psychedelic breaks-driven machine funk.
A full story about Yuri’s journey completes the release and can be read in full here. Sam Jefferies is also behind the intricate artwork for all the releases, which can also be purchased on Bandcamp as a poster.
Artist and producer Sam Jefferies AKA Tony Neptune uses painting, music and text as a way of telling the tales and adventures of Yuri Gagarin, the cosmonaut who was taken from us in the spring of 1961.
