Stream: Ron Albrecht/Stefan Rein – Seven Lakes (Pure Traxx)

Ron Albrecht and Stefan Rein, bossmen of the German Pure Trax imprint and water-body enthusiasts, pair the smooth, shuffling 'Inner Lake' and dark, stomping 'Outer Lake' for their new release Seven Lakes Pt. 1. Building slowly over the course of seven or eight minutes, the tracks are fine, but there's really very little exciting about them. The Distant Echoes remix of 'Outer Lake' has some nice flourishes in the production but really only serves to dampen the intense mission statement of the original, and the Alex.Do remix is perhaps the most interesting because it turns corners so often – with some acid-esque bleep runs every now and again and then a full blown fucking organ swelling through the last third of the track. But it's still a bit limp and never really decides on its purpose.
