Sought after Pilgrims of the Mind record to be reissued
Originally released in 1997 – Heels & Souls are now set to reissue ‘What’s Your Shrine?’
Pilgrims of the Mind was the alias of Stephane Novak who used the moniker as an outlet to release leftfield electronic experiments in the 90’s which sat somewhere between house, downtempo and IDM. Much of the music released during this time gathered a cult following but didn’t necessarily reach a vast audience globally, this was in part as a result of limited distribution by Vancouver label Map Music.
‘What’s Your Shrine?’ was first released in 1997 on CD and has since been widely sought after with a number of Pilgrims of the Mind’s music gathering increased interest in the internet age in which sounds travel.
Heels & Souls have now announced the reissue of the record, which will be made available on vinyl for the first time.
Stephane managed to uncover the original unmastered DATs that have been given a fresh mastering by Justin Drake at the Bakehouse Studios.
Recent reissues came most prominently on Echovolt Records but this is the first time that an album of full length material has been made available since 1997.
