Series of collaborative works brings together Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian & American musicians
Global artist collective Found Sound Nation (FSN) & Lebanese independent label Thawra Records have come together to share a new three-part series of collaborative works from Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian & American musicians.
The videos were created in the summer of 2021, as part of FSN’s OneBeat Lebanon music residency, which took place in the wake of the August 4th explosion in Beirut.
The series as a whole is a celebration of unity and cultural diversity and a form of collective therapy: “a statement of existence to a community of artists who have, against all odds and despite the trauma and the challenges, continued to create.”
Featuring performances from Mayssa Jallad & Khaled Allaf, Etyen & Salwa Jaradat and Baada Ab, the singles all touch on themes of identity, trauma and injustice, as well as showcasing the diverse experiences and challenges of the modern Arab person.
Watch the video for the first single ‘Madina min Baee’ from Mayssa Jallad & Khaled Allaf. The following two singles from Etyen & Salwa Jaradat and Baada Ab will be released on 14th and 30th April, respectively.
