R$N announce Richard Sen compilation of UK Techno, House and Breakbeat
Ransom Note Records has launched a new sub-label, Dance Music From Planet Earth, with a compilation of rave heritage titled ‘Dream The Dream: UK Techno, House and Breakbeat 1990-1994’.
The album is presented by the renowned DJ/producer Richard Sen, who was an obsessive collector of house and techno music from 1989 onwards. Sen’s personal selection reflects what he was playing at that time, bringing together the dots between ambient, techno, house, breakbeat, and early trance productions from the UK. The album includes ten tracks, including Centuras’ ‘Tokyo,’ Strontium 90’s ‘Rave On The Nile,’ Dream Frequency’s ‘Dream The Dream,’ and other lesser-known British productions.
Sen is recognised as an elder statesman, an educator, and an expert on dance music. He has DJed all over the world in the past 30 years, including legendary clubs such as Fabric in London and Robert Johnson in Germany, among others. He has also turned his talents to music production and recording, releasing singles under his own name, and previously under the guises of Bronx Dogs and Padded Cell. Sen’s remix and production work have included respected artists Bryan Ferry, John Grant, Unloved (David Holmes’ band), LCD Soundsystem, Saint Etienne, and The Jungle Brothers.
The album will be released on vinyl, download, and stream on 9th June 2023. The tracks aim to inspire and educate a new generation of music fans who weren’t born then, as well as trigger acid flashbacks for older ravers. Dance Music From Planet Earth aims to showcase some of the more obscure British productions that are lesser-known but need to be showcased. The album is available for pre-order, and the single ‘Amaranth – Love Lies Bleeding’ by Bandulu can be streamed and shared.
Dream The Dream is out June 9, 2023 on double gatefold deluxe vinyl, CD, mixtape and digital. Pre Order Here
