Berlin’s GEGEN and Barcelona’s House of (S)PUNK have announced two compilations highlighting the queer communities in their respective scenes.

Both platforms have been pushing the envelope in supporting queer and femme talent, and for these compilations they shine a light on a new collection of artists who are orbiting everything from techno and industrial to ambient, neorave and electro.

GEGEN’s compilation is a collection of 14 tracks that features music from the likes of Oliver Deutschmann, Wanton Witch, Lady Maru, Samantha Togni and many more, while House of (S)PUNK’s release welcomes the likes of Lola Kay, ETL, Valav, GLXGLS and label boss La Fraicheur.

Founded a decade ago, GEGEN run a monthly party in Berlin at their longtime home of KitKat club, a well as a new kink rendezvous in RSO. Their sonic identity revolves around heavy industrial sounds and has formed the basis of several compilations and VAs.

HOUSE OF (S)PUNK is a collective and record label born during the pandemic to support the queer, trans and cybor electronic scene in Barcelona. Over three compilations and a couple of EPs they’ve celebrated the diversity of electronic music’s wide spectrum, blurring the lines between acid, breakbeat, electro, trance, hairstyle and rave.

GEGEN is out on 16th December and House of (S)PUNK Vol 3 is out now.
