Overmono announce new 12″ for XL Recordings
Overmono have announced a new 12” for XL Recordings, marking their first new music of 2021.
The release is made up of two tracks, ‘Piece of 8’ and ‘Echo Rush’. The first was one of the tracks the duo played in their first ever live performance for Boiler Room five years ago, and has since become a mainstay in their shows, as well as going through many different iterations, one of which is now part of Joy Orbison’s radio station on Grand Theft Auto.
The second track ‘Echo Rush’ is a cut that was made on a synthesiser ironically called ‘The Virus’. Randomly discovered on their laptop one day and with no memory of when they wrote it, their memory was sparked once again after Tom had started playing it at a festival while Ed made his way to the stage after a delayed flight. After this they put work into finishing it and have now find a perfect time to release it into the world.
Overmono have previously released four EPs via XL Recordings, including the Arla series, as well as outings for Whities and their own Poly Kicks imprint.

‘Pieces Of 8 / Echo Rush’ will be released on 9th April.
