Nosaj Thing collaborates with Toro Y Moi, Panda Bear, Coby Sey & more on fifth album
The LA-based producer makes his return to longtime affiliate Lucky Me for his fifth studio album, Continua.
Marking his first full length release in five years since Parallels, throughout the LP’s 12-track duration Nosaj Thing (real name Jason W. Chung) makes reference to a picture from hip hop photographer Eddie Otchere which depicts an open road at dusk: somewhere remote, high in the West Highlands of Scotland.
It’s this image, which urges the viewer to continue ahead down an unknown path, that struck Jason and spoke to the life events that he’d experiences over the last five years including family health-scares and house break-ins, which have in turn shaped his outlook and encouraged him to keep on going.
He invites a stellar cast of artists to join him across the release, which touches on hip hop, soul, jazz and avant-garde, including Toro y Moi, Coby Sey, Julianna Barwick and Panda Bear, to name but a few.
Nosaj Thing has been making music for over 16 years, working in different sounds from noise and punk to electronic and soul, as well as supporting artists like The xx and The Weeknd.
