Nathan Micay announces new 12″ on ESP Institute
After promising his fans a wealth of new music earlier this year, Nathan Micay (fka Bwana) has been making good on that promise. Following the launch of his own Schvitz Edits imprint, the Berlin-based Canadian producer debuted on Whities in August with one of the most anticipated records of 2018.
Micay's next 12" lands on Lovefingers' ESP Institute (also having a big year, with new music from the likes of Roman Flügel and Sharif Laffrey). Out 23rd November, it pivots towards a more functional approach, and plays host to a pair of peak time big-room weapons.
"After releasing what I feel was my most emotional and personal work to date this past August", Micay explains, "I decided that the next release should be totally different. Something fun and purely for the club, a concept I've always struggled with in the studio. Like most of my work, these tracks started as overly busy bundles of melodies and too many drum loops but eventually they were chiseled down to their essentials. The results are the first tracks I've ever been truly happy to present as tools for the club DJ. Completely void of meaning and made to make people dance. The world has enough to be emotional about right now as it is."
Void of meaning they may be, but bang they absolutely do. Pre-order the 12" here and listen to 'Never Rhythm Game' below:
