Moritz von Oswald Trio readies new album on Modern Recordings
The group have worked to release a collection of tracks which span the breadth of jazz, downtempo, house and dub – focussing on overlapping textures and utilising a mixed methodology to produce a long playing album, their first since 2015.
Titled “Dissent” the trio takes on a new formation, with American artist Laurel Halo and jazz drummer Heinrich Köbberling joining Moritz von Oswald. The music was recorded during long jam sessions in Berlin in November and December of last year.
The record, when played in full, weaves and wanders between varying tempos and styles, showcasing the breadth of musicality and diversity amidst the trio.
