Lila Tirando a Violeta announces album on N.A.A.F.I

‘Desire Path’ will feature artists such as Nicola Cruz, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Merca Bae and Verraco.

The 10-track album is Lila’s second full-length release on the Mexico-based label, following her debut in 2020 – ‘Limerencia’ – a captivating record that saw her draw from folk patterns of her home in Montevideo, Uruguay, combining hybrid club sounds with ambient interludes.

‘Desire Path’ sees Lila further the central theme explored in ‘Limerencia’: managing a debilitating neurological illness that required frequent medical care. But with the improvement of her condition comes undertones of coy hopefulness, and more potent dancefloor orientation. Also maintaining the representation of her Uruguayan heritage, the album features the moans of Prehispanic flutes and ocarinas.

You can pre-order ‘Desire Path’ now for release on 8th April via N.A.A.F.I. The release is accompanied by a limited sale of ocarinas which were designed in collaboration with Argentinian 3D artist Trinidad Metz, developed while Lila Tirando a Violeta was researching homemade and ceramic ocarinas during her tour in Mexico.
