Jonny Rock & Luke Solomon celebrate London 90’s club night Space on new compilation
The much loved club is celebrated with the release of a new compilation curated by the two DJ’s.
Space was one of the most influential nightclubs in London during the 90’s. Running from 1995 to 2002, ‘Space’ was a Wednesday night founded by Kenny Hawkes and Luke Solomon and became known as one of the best nights out in the capital with its leftfield approach to dance music.
Guests who played the party include Derrick Carter, Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey, Tom Middleton, A Man Called Adam, Ralph Lawson and Huggy, Harri and Domenic, Francois Kevorkian, Salt City Orchestra, Carl Cox, Chez Damier and Ron Trent. However, it is perhaps the moments, stories and experiences from the nights themselves that became the talk of the town and stuff of legends which mean the club night has long lasting legacy today.
Jonny Rock and Luke Solomon have compiled a collection of tracks which showcase the broad sound of the party. Described as a ” tribute to the late Kenny Hawkes, London’s dark lord of house music” the release features fifteen tracks and will be split across two parts.
All profits from the compilation will be donated to the British Liver Trust. Full tracklist can be seen below:
