John Roberts Announces New Ep For His Brunette Editions Imprint
New York's elusive John Roberts has today announced his return with 'FLUID', the closing cut from a three-track EP of new material entitled Spill. Slated for release on April 13th via his own Brunette Editions imprint, it sees Roberts continue to develop and refine the kinds of amorphous sonic sculptures that he mastered on 2016's Plum and last year's eponymous album Body Four.
The announcement comes accompanied by a stark statement:
"A SERIES OF SONGS WRITTEN AND DESTROYED. SELF-CANNIBALIZED PRODUCTIONS SPIT BACK OUT IN ABNORMAL SILHOUETTES. THE ORIGINALS SHREDDED APART INTO DISCREET MOTIFS — MINIATURE RHYTHMIC PATTERNS, COLLECTIONS OF MELODIC RUNS SELECTED MOMENTS OF RECORDINGS FROM MAXWELL STERLING (DOUBLE BASS) AND PETER EVANS (TRUMPET) INTRODUCED AS ‘PROBIOTICS’.
