human league headback into top 10 thanks to aberdeen fc
Football fans love music, this much is well known. What’s lesser known is that Aberdeen FC fans, specifically, love The Human League’s synth pop masterpiece ‘Don’t You Want Me‘.
They sing the 1981 kitchen-synth pop ditty in honour of their midfielder Peter Pawlett and, now, they’re looking to get the track back into the charts.
A facebook campaign has sprung up to support the push and, as of yesterday, the track was number 4 in the Itunes charts, something that The Human League have recognised (as they should do!) and there’s now talk of them playing a special gig in Aberdeen to say thanks to the fans.
To bastardize a famous football quote ‘ Synth Pop, eh, Bloody Hell!’
