Heavenly Records Sign Texan Acid Rockers Night Beats
More psychedelia for heads coming from the resurgent Heavenly Records. The labels' latest signing is Night Beats, a three piece from Texas who specialise in acid drenched rock & roll. They're very Heavenly sounding – that is, we can imagine the Chemical Brothers dropping current heater Sunday Mourning mid-set during a sweaty night at the Albany back in 1997; it's got the shuffling breakbeat, the creeping basssline groove, and the too-cool vocal inflections of a dancefloor winner. Someone get Weatherall on the remix and it's game over.
The signing coincided with the band announcing details of their thrid album, Who Sold My Generation, set to be released through Heavenly on Friday 29th January 2016 – here's a blast of Sunday Mourning as a taster;
