Failed Units announce VA series dedicated to BPM tools
Manchester-based label Failed Units have launched their first VA series, ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Bangers’, which is dedicated to BPM tools.
Consisting of tracks specifically designed to jump between tempos and open up new ideas and directions in DJ sets, the first edition features instalments from DJ Pacifier with a full on hardcore to techno blast (180 > 140 bpm), Daniel Ruane with a sugar rush of kicks (127 > 200 bpm), smog with a sludged out industrial doom-groover (25 > 125 bpm) and Stolen Velour with an elastic electro via dnb hybrid (130 > 175 bpm).
The digital release is accompanied by a physical release in the form of The Mighty Morphin’ Power Bangers card game. Created by recent Failed Units alumni Ziyiz in collaboration with Daniel Ruane and Carne, it is a fully playable dice/card game hybrid inspired by 1980’s Japanese toy commercials, 1 bit MS-DOS games and TTRPGs.
