Duke Hugh set to release EP on EVM128’s Dance Regular
Dutch multi-instrumentalist Duke Hugh is set to release a debut EP for EVM128 and James Rudie’s Dance Regular imprint.
Marking the label’s fourth release following two V/As and an EP from Footshooter, the six tracks on ‘Common Ground’ showcase Duke’s ability to effortlessly marry genres, from broken beat to house, reggae, jazz and electonica.
These influences form the backbone of the release, opening with the title track that sees Duke link up with singer/songwriter Renato Paris for a future R&B, broken-beat cut and moving through sultry jazz bruk on ‘2017 Heat Wave’ and late night club vibes on ‘Nighthawks’.
Duke Hugh has previously released on Rhythm Section and HW&W, the home of artists like Kaytranada, Ta-Ku and Pomo.
