Dennis Bovell reworks A Mountain Of One’s first track in a decade
A Mountain Of One recently returned with their first new music in over a decade, ‘Custard’s Last Stand’, which has been given the rework treatment from dub pioneer Dennis Bovell in the form of two Dub versions.
The band, made up of Mo Morris and Zeben Jameson, recorded the track during the pandemic over Skype from Bali and West London respectively, which bridges experimental and melodic strains in their own singular way.
Released through their new label AMORE, the track precedes a forthcoming album this autumn which has been mastered and remixed by legendary DJ and producer Ricardo Villalobos.
In collaboration with NYX VX, A Mountain Of One are exploring the relationship between music and virtual reality, developing a new virtual world that will provide artists with the opportunity to ‘identify, connect and engage with audiences on multiple levels’.
A Mountain Of One’s previous releases, ‘Collected Works’ and ‘Institute of Joy’ received critical acclaim, showcasing their ability at blending elements of Balearic, jazz, folk, rock and psychedelia.
