C.A.R. Announces New Album On Ransom Note Records
This one's been under wraps for a while now – so we're chuffed to bits to finally be able to announce it. Chloé Raunet aka C.A.R. will be releasing her second LP on Ransom Note Records next year!
PINNED is a bold electronic pop album, by turns shimmering and angular in the vein of the best early '80s post-punk records, and with Raunet's striking voice and accomplished songwriting at its beating heart. Finding the sweet spot between underground innovation and pop immediacy, it's her finest work to date, following releases for Kill The DJ and Les Disques de la Mort, and collaborations with the likes of Maceo Plex and Red Axes.
As a taster for the full album, C.A.R. will be releasing lead single 'Daughters' next month – a sparse, dubwise elegy to the faded which cribs from artists like Laurie Anderson and Grouper yet remains resolutely unique. The music video is a thing of wonder and we can't wait for you all to see it very soon.
Unique to the digital single (now available to pre-order) is b-side 'Hard To Keep My Mind On You', a quirky bedroom pop cover of Jake Holmes' 1967 folk number.
That's the Daughters artwork below – the single drops on 3rd November, with the full album set to be released in February 2018. Keep an eye out for more details over the next few months.
