Cakeshop’s label CRSL drop first artist release from Orbe Nacimiento
Mexico City-based duo Orbe Nacimiento, formed of Daniel Suarez and Marcos Carral, are in charge of the first artist-led release on Cakeshop’s Carousel (CRSL) label arm.
They’ve shared the first single from the release, ‘Yo Pense’, a hazy experimental ambient track that comes with a video recorded around CDMX at night time.
Taking influence from their home of Mexico City, the duo reinterpret their surroundings through heavily processed vocals which sit on a bed of ambient, experimental and pop sonics, resulting in what they like to describe as “Headphone Music”.
The pair take influence from artists like Laurie Anderson, Andy Stott and Arca, to carve out introspective, peaceful sounds and off-kilter soundscapes that are both textural and ever-changing,
Listen to ‘Yo Pense’.
‘Yo Pense‘ is accompanied by a dancefloor-focused remix from syntrovert. The full album will be released on 7th October.
