After a two year hiatus, Branchage Festival will return to the shores of Jersey this September. Beginning in 2008, Branchage established itself as a cultural hub for film, music, theatre, comedy, and art, attracting several curious festival-goers to the channel islands.
The return of Branchage will see the festival expanded to a 5-day event at the tail-end of September. The rest of the plans currently remain firmly under wraps but given some of the previous quirks of the festival there are sure to be at least one or two surprises along the way; events including Zombie Zombie performing a live score to Battleship Potemkin on a tugboat have been seen in the past.
Named by The Guardian as “the nation’s most intrepid film festival“, the return of Branchage is most certainly a welcome one amongst film fans.
