Born Bad Records explore 90s French proto-house on new compilation
French label Born Bad Records are set to release a compilation titled DYNAM’HIT that explores French proto-house and Euro dance pop from 1990 to 1995.
Gathered by DJs Belec and Sainte Rita over a couple of years, the 10-track release showcases the quintessentially French equivalent to British Pop House, stretching from Euro dance pop, new beat, synth-driven disco and rave — strains which all lead to the birth of house music.
The Romainville-based label have built a huge discography since their conception 15 years ago, including several compilations that have highlighted eras and styles within French music, from coldwave to 60s Beat and 80s Boogie.
