R$N sub-label Human Endeavour throw label launch party with Double Helix and Waterbaby
To celebrate the launch of our newest sub-label, Human Endeavour, on Wednesday 29th June we’ll be throwing a party at The Shacklewell Arms in Dalston.
Following the release of the first outing on the imprint, which dropped in full yesterday, London duo Double Helix, who feature on the EP, will play live alongside fellow duo Waterbaby with DJ support from label boss Rosie Ama and a special guest.
Formed in July 2021, London duo Double Helix have spent the first year of their inception carving out a distinctive sound around the UK capital, compounding various techno / rave subcultures and a tenacious punk energy into one unified, uncompromising vision.
Their hypnotic sophomore release ‘Doppelgänger’ for Human Endeavour is reminiscent of acid electronica of the 90’s, pitting the iconic sound of the Roland 303 against darker industrial tones and a relentless, pulsating motorik beat.
Waterbaby is the audio-visual project of sister duo Martha and Jessica Kilpatrick. Blending avant-garde pop, experimental electronica and otherworldly choral music, the group call to mind The Cocteau Twins, Grimes and Kate Bush.
Human Endeavour is the newest addition to Ransom Note Records’ family of sub-labels. Curated and run by Ransom Note Editor, and one half of DJ duo Kiara Scuro, Rosie Ama Cain, the label will be a “space for artists who are exploring the dark, deep and hypnotic corners of the musical spectrum.”
The inaugural outing, which is out now, features music from six artists – Double Helix, Anatolian Weapons, Nandele, ANGST vor GRETA, Albino Sound and Reda Saiarh – gives a window into some of the sounds, styles and names that you’ll be hearing on the label in the future.

Entry is free. Doors at 7:00pm, curfew at 11pm. To find out more visit the Facebook and Dice Events. HE001 ‘Trains Of Thought’ is out now.
